Welcome to my poetry blog and help me chase/find the sounds of laughter in Somalia!

Dear all,

Welcome to my blog. Writing Poetry has been my companion for a long time. There are many things it brings me. It has helped me through the years to stay focused therefore bringing me ease for the day, it also helps me get a grip of my thoughts therefore creating a better vision for tomorrow. Poetry is a medium of expression for me.

Through poetry i have learned a lot about myself and about the world in general. One of the most important things i have learned is self-portrayal and self-conduct in regard to friendship or family. As we all know no one is ever born into Life alone. Everyone has shared the bond of family, at least at birth, and for many people it is a bond that will follow them throughout life. For many people it is the most important bond of all. For others they create that bond for themselves.

Friendship, on the other hand, isn’t always easily described. The Eskimos, for example, have a hundred different words for snow. Unfortunately, the English language isn’t quite as innovative. Friends are special people. We can’t pick our

family, we can pick our friends, and we’re sorely limited in the number of them at any rate. Our friends, in a very real sense, reflect the choices we make in life. They are special people that we meet in life who seem to make life’s journey a little easier. They are like a candle that shows the obstacles in your way so that Life is easier to deal with. People’s lives are made up of many events that change and determine who a person will become. Everyone deserves to be noted for who they are and what they can do. This blog is a piece of me, of whom I am, where I am coming from and where I would love to be.

The joy of this world, when you have summoned it all up is found in the making of friends. A few good friends make life complete. It is doing and giving for somebody else on which all of life’s splendour depends. As you will see my poetry, for a great part deal with this phenomenal.

I hope that my poems and writings have the depth and insight i am looking for. Last but not least, i also hope you will have just as much pleasure reading them as i had writing.

I consider myself a guardian and vehicle of Somali identity
